Ruth qualified in 1995 and is a Chartered Physiotherapist with a special interest in Musculoskeletal (MSK) Therapy and Sports Injuries. Her initial graduate work and training was carried out in York, Oxford and Leeds (St James'). This was followed by locum work in Sheffield, Wakefield, Doncaster and York (GP surgeries, MSK, Rapid Response, Neurology and MSK respectively) while building her private practice in Boston Spa.

This background has provided a wide experience of all types of MSK problems (arms, legs, backs and necks). It includes treatment for acute through to chronic problems, rehabilitation following surgery or preparation for surgery. It has also enabled treatment to be given in all sorts of settings from the big teaching hospitals like the John Radcliff in Oxford to the village based teaching surgeries like Spa Surgery in Boston Spa, also the home, in the clinic, on the sports field or in the gym.

Ruth is currently involved in professional development of physiotherapy in Haiti and undergraduate physiotherapy education following disaster aftermath relief for 6 months, July - December 2010. Previous clinical development includes association with Sports Injury seminars in Manchester (http://www.sportsmedclinic.com) and visiting local clinics such as Knee Clinics in Bradford (http://www.stevebollen.co.uk) and Harrogate (http://www.yorkshirekneeclinic.com).
